Thanksgiving 2012

We were able to get an entire week holiday vacation down in Little Rock for thanksgiving. Joseph has the pleasure of being able to work there if needed, and it has been the biggest blessing. We were able to see his parents before they left to go out of town for thanksgiving, and then we headed over to my parents Wednesday through Sunday. Wednesday, we went downtown to eat and then to ice skate.  Feels a little weird when its not that cold outside- but it was so fun!
Cousins! (we did not plan their navy shirts, but it worked out perfect!)

Asa liked watching us for a little bit. It didn't last long.

It was Barrett and Branton's first time to ice-skate, and even Bennett got to take a turn around!
Joseph showed off his many ice-skating skills all  night. :)

Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful as usual!  I love getting to spend time with our families during the holidays.

Can you tell its No-Shave Novemeber?!?  It's for prostate cancer awareness, but I hate the beard every year.

Count down to Christmas has begun!!

Catch up and South Carolina

Because I'm terrible at blogging, here are a few pictures I never got around to posting after Asa's birthday and of my South Carolina trip at the beginning of this month.

I love this picture of them....

Bennett and Asa- 5 months apart and they have so much fun together.  I hope they are always close

 Me and Lilly

Cousins!

I also went to South Carolina, along with my sister, to visit my sister-in-law.  I am crazy blessed to have two family that love to hang out together.  My in-laws and my parents are very close and so are each of our siblings.  It's so nice!
My sister, sister in law and their girls

We went to the zoo and Lilly kept "honking" her nose because that's what the monkeys all sounded like.  They were in awe.

I'm partial, but I have the two cutest nieces in the whole world.

Big Boy Bed!

We moved Asa into a big boy bed back in August. It was a super easy transition (much easier than expected), and we have loved having the option for another bed for when guests come.  It is always a work in progress, and I have many things I would like to do/buy for his room, but I will have to tackle that after the Christmas shopping stops. We will be passing this bed back in a few months to Joseph's sister since it was her bed growing up, so if you see any good deals on a trundle bed, please let me know! For now, here is his new room!  Lots to still be done!

I couldn't get this little boy out for a few pictures.  He loves playing in his room (and jumping on his bed).

He sleeps on the pull out trundle and can easily get up and down.  He doesn't know how to open our door knobs (thank goodness), and usually waits for me before he gets up out of his bed. It has worked perfect for him!

The "Asa" letters are from his baby shower I had that Katie made. I still love them!

Halloween Fun!

We had such a great time at Amber and Jordan's for a Halloween party!  She is quite the hostess.  She had it all decorated and served chili, smores, Apple Cider, and "Mummy Dogs" for the kids!  (None of which I took a picture of). boo. I am thankful for such great friends!  All the kids came dressed up and had the best time!

Asa's 2nd Birthday!

We had a blast at Asa's 2nd Birthday! I decided to go all out just because I figured as more kids came along I probably wouldn't have the time and energy to do it again. We decided on a "cars" theme...but not the movie, just a 2 year old version, cozy-coupe style! Here are the pictures from his party:

Invitation
We made a track outside with rolls of black plastic and duct tape.  I borrowed the cones and most of the cozy coupe cars.

My friend, Shannon, help me make his birthday shirt! It turned out so cute!

We decided to use the "stoplight" as his color theme for most everything- including the food!
My friend, Jordan, makes these yummy sugar cookies! She did a great job!
I used the gasoline can for our drink dispenser (yes, it was brand-new and clean.), and I splurged and ordered these traffic cone sippy cups from Birthdayexpress.com
I made Driver's Licenses for all the kids that came!
The stoplights were made from Pamper's diaper boxes that I just spray painted black.

Sweet baby Maren, who is almost 3 weeks old!

The birthday boy!

Such a fun day!  I wish I had more pics of all of us, but Asa accidentally scratched my cornea two nights before the party, so I had no eye makeup on and was very sensitive to the sun.  Things can't always be perfect! :)

Thank you to all of Asa's friends/family (and mine) who made him feel so special that day and for loving him as much as we do!
